NDU bid for Hosting of RSIF Scholars
The Niger Delta University has formed a committee to respond to the call for applications to bid for the hosting and training of PhD scholars.
In constituting the committee, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Samuel G. Edoumiekumo reminded them of the importance of the task as it has the potential of advertising the University at the global stage as a centre of excellence

Competitive bidding is open to universities in sub-Sahara Africa and must have proven capacity and expertise (by showing demonstrable evidence to train high quality PhDs) in any of the following areas: ICT (Big data and Artificial

Intelligence; Food Security /Agribusines; Minerals, Mining and Materials Engineering; Energy including renewables; and Climate Change

PhD scholars will be funded by the Regional Scholarship and Innovative Fund (RSIF) at universities approved by the Fund. The Fund will also support post-doctoral scientists and assist hosting universities to upgrade their facilities and capacities for the training of high quality manpower for the whole of Africa in the identified areas. The Fund is established and managed by Partnership for Skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET), an initiative by African governments to promote skills and knowledge in critical areas needed for transformation and development in Africa. Bids closes January 17 2019.
