Brace Up for the Nano Age Revolution, NDU DON urges Leaders

"Small is the New Big: Nanos will Rule the Future..It may very well turn out that the biggest discovery in human history is also the smallest." These are some of  the remarks contained in a clarion call to leaders of thought to embrace Nano Technology, a great innovative and potentially transformative technology that would radically change how society works. The call was made by Ezekiel Dixon Dikkio,  a professor of Physical Chemistry, at the 35th Lecture entitled ''NANO NANO NANO", of the Inaugural Lecture Series of the Niger Delta University  held on March 20, 2019 at the Main Auditorium. Provost Commended for Meritorious Service

The out-going Provost of the College of Health Services (CHS), Prof. Beleudanyo G Fente has been commended for his meritorious services to the development of the CHS and his invaluable contributions as a member of the University Management Committee. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Samuel G Edoumiekumo, made these remarks at the regular meeting of members of Management Committee held on March 1, 2019 which also was the last for Prof. Beleudanyo Fente, as he serves out two terms as Provost of the College and as a member of the Management Committee. Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, who took over from him as the new Provost of CHS was also introduced as a member of the Management Committee.

DVCs Elected

Senate at the 162nd Meeting on February 28, 2019 elected two Deputy Vice Chancellors. They are Prof. Donbebe Wankasi (who is being elected for a second term) is to serve as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Prof. Allen Agih (who is being elected for the first term) is to serve as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic)

Provost / Deanship Elections

Elections were held  for the Provost of the College of Health Services (CHS) and Deans of some faculties following the expiration of the tenure of current office holders. Result of the elections are: Prof Kemebradikumo D Pondei (Provost, CHS); Prof the Prophet Prohp (Dean, Basic Sciences);  Prof Ayuba Ibrahim (Dean, Clinical Sciences); Prof Jasper  F N Abowei (Dean, Sciences) and Prof Emmanuel M Adigio (Dean, Engineering).

Application for Admissions to Sandwich Programmes

Application Forms for Admission into the BA/B.Sc (Ed) Degree Sandwich Programmes of the Faculty of Education of the Niger Delta University for 2019 are now available. Completed application forms are to be submitted to the Office of the Director, Institute of Education, Niger Delta University not later than August 2, 2019.   see university website  www.ndu.edu.ng  and the  Herald Newspaper  of February 13, 2019 for more details.

Book Donation to NDU

The University received books and magazines donations from some well-meaning Nigerians and organizations. These include thirty (30) copies of  My Transition Hours  by former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; fifteen (15) copies each of  Legal Issues in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry  and the  Petroleum Industry Bill: Getting to the Yes;.  Others include sixty-four (64)  copies of  Compendium of Oil and Gas Cases in Nigeria  and two (2) copies of  Consulting Engineer Magazine  May - August 2018.
