NDU DON Advocates Bloom's Taxonomy for National Development

A professor of Educational Management at the Niger Delta University, Prof Allen Agih, has advocated for the rigorous implementation of Bloom's Taxonomy in our educational system (particularly at the foundation stages) to achieve the total development of the personality that would form the basis for national development. While all the three pillars of training the child's personality (cognitive, psychomotor and affective) are important he said, the affective domain, according to the erudite scholar is the most critical and important of them all; and regrettably the most neglected component. Registrar Meets with ANUPA

The Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA) NDU Chapter held its regular meeting on February 4, 2019. In her remarks, the Registrar, Mrs Effua Berepubo, who also presided over the meeting was to brief members of the activities of the Association and in particular the training programmes scheduled for the year by the national body. She advised members to plan ahead and attend some, to keep abreast of developments in the practice of administration.

Registrar Meets with NIM Members

Inaugural meeting of Members of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Chartered in the University took place on February 5, 2019 at the instance of the Registrar, Mrs EffuaBerepubo. The aim of the meeting, she explained was for the establishment of the NDU Chapter of the Institute, which she lamented was overdue. The meeting was also attended by intending members.

Registrar Parleys with Administrative Staff Forum

The Registrar, Mrs Efua Berepubo on February 6, held interactive session with the Administrative Staff Forum (ASF) of the University. The aim of the session, she explained, was to regularly brief them of the policies of the Administration; hear from them what their challenges are that affects their performance and productivity and also to thank them for their support. She advised them to avoid truancy and absenteeism in the discharge of their duties.

Pro-Chancellor Marks Retirement from Public Service

Members of the University Community headed by the Vice Chancellor Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo was amongst friends and well wishers that attended the ThanksGiving Service organized by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the Niger Delta University, Bar Matthew B Seiyefa, to mark his successful retirement from public service. Speakers at the Church Service and at the Reception Ceremonies all eulogized the sterling qualities of the Celebrant.   In his remarks, the Pro Chancellor thanked God for his protection throughout his challenging career and all those who found time to be present to mark the event with him. Barr Matthew B Seiyafa retired from the Department of State Services (DSS) as its Ag Director General and was appointed Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, to replace Prof Steve Azaiki who resigned to pursue political interests.

Revised Academic Calendar for NDU

Following the suspension of the strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Committee of Deans and Provosts has rescheduled academic activities for the rest of the year. The second semester of the 2017/2018 session will be concluded within 2 months (Feb 11 - April 13) while the 2018/2019 session will commence on April 26 2019 and end Dec 20 2019.

Pro Chancellor on Familiarization Tour

The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barr Matthew B Seiyefa on February 12, embarked on a familiarization tour to enable him have on-the-spot assessment of facilities, mile-stones, achievements and challenges facing the University   The tour, the first since his appointment, was   comprehensive   as no faculty, department, or unit, both teaching and non teaching was left out. On the Pro Chancellor's entourage was the Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo, the Registrar, Director of Works, and the Chief Security Officer amongst others.
