ADMISSION TO A ONE-YEAR PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME – 2019/2020

In collaboration with the JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS BOARD (JUPEB), the Niger Delta University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the Pre-Degree Programmes for 2019/2020 session. The Programme leads to the award of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Certificates which enables candidates to gain Direct Entry Admission to 200 level of the degrees offered by the Niger Delta University and other JUPEB affiliated Universities in Nigeria and Universities abroad. The JUPEB Certificate is equivalent to the Advance Level GCE or the Old Higher School Certificates (HSC) or IJMB. For admission into the Niger Delta University and other JUPEB affiliate institutions, each candidate, in addition to passing the prescribed JUPEB examination for issuing the Direct Entry Certificates, must satisfy all admission requirements prescribed by Departments and Faculties of choice. NDU Hosts Nigerian Students Poetry Prize (NSPP) Awards Ceremony

The 4th Edition of the Nigerian Students Poetry Prize Award Ceremonies and Unveiling of Anthology on Top 100 Poems took place on Saturday, July 6 at the Main Auditorium of the Niger Delta University. In his opening remarks, the President, Poets in Nigeria Initiative, Eriata Oribhabor thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo and his Management Team for their uncommon reception. He listed some of the uncommon support in the areas of publishing the anthology of 100 poems of the NSPP 2019, accommodation for 10 poets, logistics support and light refreshment for guests. The Philosophy of the NSPP idea the President further stated was to develop awareness in poetry reading, writing and performance in students in Nigerian tertiary educational institutions and pleaded with various levels of government and ministries to ignite and sustain such interests by providing the necessary facilities. Students Community Honours VC

The Students Community of the Niger Delta University turned out in their numbers to honour their Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo, in a   "VC and Management Appreciation Concert / Award Ceremony" held at the Main Auditorium, on June 19, 2019 where different students groups gave him awards for excellent service. According to their   Spokesman, the ceremony was organized to appreciate the VC and his Management Team for the developmental strides recorded in the University since he took over the mantle of leadership. The Vice Chancellor in his remarks thanked the Students Community for their honour and enjoined them to be good partners in the stride towards making the University a Centre for Excellence.

Courtesy Calls

The Director General of the Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) Engr Prof Okechukwu Ukwuoma accompanied by NACETEM Staff (NDU Zonal Office) paid a courtesy call on the University Administration on June 19 2019. The purpose of the visit according to the DG was to thank the VC for the cordial relationship between the University and NACETEM and being a good host to NACETEM. He listed possible areas of co-operation and promised discount for NDU Staff that would want to enroll in the NACETEM postgraduate programmes. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo,, in his remarks thanked the DG for the visit and promised to support and nurture the relationship for the mutual benefit of both parties. VC Installed Grand Patron of Boys Brigade

The Boys Brigade, Niger Delta University Cadet Company has installed the Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel G Edoumiekuno as its Grand Patron. The occasion was the Enrolment, Induction of New Patrons and successful handover/installation of new leadership which took place on June 19 at the University Main Campus.
