Yokogawa Ltd On Courtesy Visit

Yokogawa Ltd on Thursday June 13 2019 paid a courtesy call on the Management of the Niger Delta University. The essence of the visit according to the Head of the Delegation was to continue with the existing collaboration that exists between the University and Yokogawa Ltd. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo thanked the Visitors and expressed his readiness to cooperate with them to move the University to higher levels. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by both parties.

Orientation for Fresh Students

Fresh students for the 2018/2019 session have been scheduled for Orientation by the Niger Delta University. Accordingly to the schedule released by the University, the one-day event will hold on Tuesday June 11, 2019 at the New Lecture Theatre at the New Site. Activities lined up for the day include short and brief 15 minutes discussionby resource persons on issues that are topical to university and campus life.These issues generally include how to make their stay in the university meaningful. Topics include cultism, academic success / failure, University rules / regulations, disciplinary matters, etc

World Bank, SEEFOR Visit NDU

Officials of the World Bank and SEEFOR visited NDU Administration on Friday,May31 2019. The purpose of the visit according their spokesperson was to find areas of co-operation between the University and these institutions. The ViceChancellorProf Samuel G Edoumiekumo thanked them for the visit and pledged his support for any project they would find worthy to embark on. State Employment and Expenditure for Results Projects(SEEFOR), is a World Bank assisted project to assist governments (National, State and Local) to address developmental challenges and has three main components:(1) Youth Employment Opportunities, Access to Socio‐economic Services, and Community Development (2) Public Financial Management Reforms and(3) Project coordination and implementation support.

Pro Chancellor loses Elder Sister.

The death has been announced ofMrs Dolly FiribafaOkoyen (nee Seiyefa), elder sister of the Pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of Niger Delta University, Mr Matthew B Seiyefa mni. which occurred on May 27, 2019. Consequence thereof, the University delegation of Principal Officers of the University led by the Vice Chancellor Prof Samuel G Edoumiekumo paid a condolence visit to the Pro Chancellor on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his Yenagoa residence.He sympathized with and encouraged the bereaved Pro Chancellor to take heart that, his elder sister lived a fulfilled and God-fearing life. The Pro Chancellor in his remarks thanked the University delegation for the visit.Burial rights for the late Mrs Dolly Firibafa Okyen has been scheduled for Friday June 21, 2019 at Peretorugbene Town, Ekeremor Local Government of bayelsa State at 9.00 am.

Promotion Interview for Senior Non Teaching Staff

The Appointment and Promotions Committee (APC) Admin and Technical on Thursday, June 12, 2019 conducted Promotion Interview for deserving and qualified staff who are moving to senor administrative and technical positions (Deputy Directors, Deputy Registrars, Senior Chief Technologists, Chief Confidential Secretaries,Senior Chief Nursing Officers, etc). in the University. The University guidelines specifies an interview for those to be promoted to these positions.

NDU Prepares for Forth-Coming Accreditation

The following programmes (Medical Laboratory Sciences, Mechanical Engineering,, Accountancy) are facing NUC and Professional Bodies Accreditation later this year To ensure hitch-fee accreditation. the Academic and Strategic Planning Unit has drawn up a schedule of mock-accreditation for these programmes starting June 17 - 19, 2019. The purpose of the mock-accreditation is to prepare and subject these programmes to NUC and Professional Bodies guidelines to determine their readiness; and to fill the gap if found wanting.

Orientation Programme for Skills Acquisition Programme

The Directorate of Consultancy, Entrepreneurship , Research and Development (DOCERAD) in collaboration with Global Technology Ltd have developed programmes that would enable students acquire practical skills in areas of their choice before graduation.
