COURTESY VISIT


 The Rector,of the newly established maritime Academy, Okpoama, Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral yanga paid a courtesy visit on the Ag Vice-Chancellor, Prof Humphrey A. Ogoni.
 The Rector informed the University Management that the main purpose of his visit was to explore ways in which the Academy could partner with the University to develop the Maritime Industry in the Niger Delta Region and Bayelsa State in particular. Rear Admiral Yanga (Rtd) also used the opportunity to donate to the University library some books he authored.

The Ag Vice-Chancellor thanked the Rector for the visit and the personal donation of his  to the University. He promised on behalf of Management that the University is ready to partner with the Maritime Academy and will be of assistance to the Academy as soon as the Department of Marine Engineering and the partnership programme with NEMASA through the Entrepreneurship Center become operational. He also informed Rear Admiral Yanga, that construction work on the deep diving and under water welding pools are at different stages of completion.

In a similar vein, the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping led by its General Manager, Eronimi Nnamdi, paid a courtesy visit on the Ag Vice-Chancellor, Prof Humphrey A. Ogoni. Mr Nnamdi informed the Vice-Chancellor that the body was in the University to conclude arrangements, for the signing of the partnership agreement to enable the body train interested staff and students in the entrepreneurship center
